113 Container Contains B3 from the UK and the Netherlands



Agus Martowardojo Finance Minister and Environment Minister Balthasar Kambuaya, reviewing findings of 113 containers of hazardous toxic waste materials (B3) which secured Customs and Excise officers Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, Saturday (28/01/2012).

Containers are secured as it contains items that are prohibited imports and does not fit the data in the customs. The company named PT Hok Hwa Steel, sending container, recorded as an importer of steel scrap.

Agus explained, the items were banned for violating customs, and information goods do not fit the facts.

In addition, according Kambuaya, importers violated the Act (Act) No. 32 Year 2009 on the Management and Protection of the Environment and Act No. 18 of 2009 on Waste.
